New facility offers comprehensive health and fitness amenities to enhance student well-being |
The University of Pittsburgh has officially opened its expansive Recreation and Wellness Center, a nine-story, 270,000-square-foot facility designed to promote holistic student health and wellness.
Located at 3921 O'Hara Street in Oakland, the center features a six-lane lap pool, hot tub, courts for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball, an elevated indoor track, and a modern esports lounge equipped with 40 high-performance PCs and various gaming consoles.
Vice Provost for Student Affairs Carla Panzella emphasized the center's role in fostering community among students.
Operating hours are from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
In the coming weeks, additional amenities such as a smoothie and juice bar, a poke bar, and a rotating-menu eatery featuring local chefs will become available.
